10/23/2010 - Northwestern University EPA Game Day Challenge
Although Northwestern University has been recycling during home football games since 2008, they amped up their recycling efforts by participating in the U.S. EPA Game Day Challenge for recycling.
Undergraduate and Graduate volunteers braved the gray, rainy weather in order to increase recycling awareness and collect recycling from fans throughout the stadium aisles and tailgate lots. Coca-Cola Recycling helped the student volunteers stand out from the crowds by providing red t-shirts, each shirt produced from 5 recycled plastic bottles.
