- New Technology in Consumer Recycling
A break-through in recycling technology was introduced on November 30, when the first Reimagine center was launched at the Pioneer Plaza shopping center in Arlington, Texas.
The Reimagine Beverage Center focuses on a new way to recycle, and it actually pays you to participate. Each bottle and can that is recycled is counted and credit is given to your account. These points can be used to purchase merchandise, obtain discounts at the participating Kroger store or can be donated to help local schools. The machine is capable of handling 200 uncrushed aluminum cans and bottles every minute.
